So as some of you may know, or may not know. I was recently accepted to IpsyOS or Ipsy Open Studios. Basically, it is a giant community of beauty bloggers and vloggers, with many opportunities to collaborate and learn. The group was founded by Ipsy creator Michelle Phan, to give new bloggers the tips and tools to get farther in the beauty blogging world. For those lucky enough to be located or traveling to California there is also a fully equipped studio to film videos in. Are you a beauty blogger or vlogger? Are you interested in joining? Check out www.ipsyos.com for more info and to apply.

So while in the group I have noticed that there was a TAG created by my fellow IpsyOS member Julia Salvia, to get to know each other. Here is the link to her video to check out, and continue reading here to get to know me a little better.

So here are the questions, and I will get started.

How old are you?

Well, this is a fairly simple one, I am currently 21, but will be turning 22 on June 22. Hello Champagne birthday, with Gen Beauty Toronto 2 days later. I’m pretty excited. I’M PRETTY EXCITED TO BE ABLE TO JAM TO TAYLOR SWIFT’S 22!! And a pretty funny thing to note is that as I’m typing this the song 21 by Hunter Hayes started playing.

Where are you from?

I am from a fairly small town in Northern Ontario called Sault Ste. Marie. There are 75 000 people population-wise, it is filled with drugs, crime, teenage pregnancy and has no Sephora. But I just moved to London, Ontario earlier this Month. Needless to say I couldn’t be happier about getting out of that town.

Do you have a nickname people call you?

I honestly don’t know/think so. I guess just Danielle or Dani. Also was gifted the name McBrows, which I embrace because I find it hilarious.

What is your favourite season?

FALL. Without a freaking doubt. It is so pretty, the perfect temperature, and pumpkin spice everyyyyyyyyything.

Who is your celebrity/Youtube crush?

Ouuuu this is a good one; there are so many attractive people in this world. I would say, Zac Efron.

What do you do for work?

I am currently not working for a few reasons. A) I just moved to a new city 2 weeks ago. B) My son is only a year and it’s very hard to find infant day care spots. and C) I am going back to school in September for esthetics.

Do you have any pets?

I do have a cat and dog, but they are in Sault Ste. Marie with my papa. My dog is currently having medical issues and I would not be able to afford thousands of dollars in vet bills. And my cat is there because my son likes to terrorize her and she’s not a very social cat.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

I have so many pet peeves. It’s probably best to not get me started on this.

What’s the most you spent in one makeup shopping trip?

Oh jeez, the exact amount I’m not too sure of but it was my trip to Gen Beauty Toronto last year. Urban Decay lipsticks were on clearance, my friend let me use her discount at Shoppers and there were a few things I picked up from Sephora and right at Gen Beauty. Probably about $300, then the $120 ticket for Gen Beauty for the over $600 worth of makeup I got there.

Do you prefer drugstore makeup or high-end makeup?

High end. But it honestly depends on the item, some things I do get from the drug store.

When did you start wearing makeup?

Grade 8, I went through a phase with REALLY dark eyeliner and earned the nickname “Rocky the Racoon”. But actually learning how to apply and collecting it I would say my first year of college, which is also when I made my first purchase high-end makeup purchase. (It was the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette)

eeeek, who let me out of the house looking like that?

What do you love/hate about makeup?

Love– I would definitely have to say I love how it gives you so much creative freedom since there’s an indefinite amount of looks that one can create.

Hate– I have the stereotypes that it creates like oh she’s wearing makeup because she’s so insecure. Also the price of high-end products, I know you get what you pay for and it’s worth it, but it’s so hard to keep up with the want for all the new releases.

Other than beauty, what else are you passionately into? (Secret talents?)

I would say graphic design would be a passion of mine as well. I was actually going to school for it before I got pregnant but I realized it’s more of a hobby and not something that I want to spend the rest of my life doing. But hey, now I have the skills and knowledge to create my brand image for my blog.

If you were upset and/or unmotivated, how do you make yourself feel better?

If I was upset I would listen to music, it’s amazing how it has the ability to affect your mood. Unmotivated all I have to do is look at my son. As cheesy as it is, he gives me the motivation I need to get anything done and to do anything possible to give him the best life I can.

If you had a week to travel all expenses paid, where would you go?

Australia, hands down. It’s always been a dream of mine to travel there.

Why and when did you start Youtube?

Well first off I should have mentioned earlier that the original of this tag was done on a Youtube Channel, so for the next few questions, I will be changing Youtube/Channel to blog.

But the reason why I started blogging because makeup and beauty have always been a passion of mine and once I had decided that I was going to go to school for esthetics I had a year of my time to kill and to find a new hobby. With that being said I had decided to put my passion for makeup into creating the blog and giving myself something to look forward to do when I have free time.

When, I had created an Instagram for beauty in my second year of college, but I never actually took it very seriously, but around May 2016 I began posting more often, then August 2016 I had created my blog.

What advice would you give to someone trying to start a channel?

My biggest thing overall on what took me so long to actually create it was that I care too much about what people think. Being from the small town I was from I was so worried about being judged, because let’s face it that’s the thing to do in Sault Ste. Marie. But my advice would be to stop caring what people think, because I’m sure I’m not the only one who had a fear of being judged. If you happen to not, my advice for you is JUST DO IT.

What are you trying to achieve with your channel?

What am I trying to achieve? Hmm, that’s a really good question. Overall I want to build relationships with people who share the same interests as me, possibly build relationships with brands, but also to give honest reviews on products.

Who/what inspires you the most?

In the sense of beauty blogging, I would have to say Christen Dominique is the one who inspires me most (I had actually written a whole post on why that you can read here). In the sense of everyday people, or people that I know my son is my biggest inspiration. He inspires me to follow my heart and to do anything and everything possible to ensure that we will have the best life we can.

What advice would you give your younger self?

When I was younger I was super conscious of everything (like I had mentioned earlier) and also was bullied for my weight. The advice I would give myself is to not let it get to you. No matter what you do, you will always have people who are going to judge you. Do what YOU have to do to make yourself happy. And when you finally find that happiness don’t let it get away. Also on that note, do not let a person be the reason for your happiness because people come and go.

So hopefully you learned a little bit more about me, and on a side note, I STILLLL don’t have internet set up, they rescheduled again.. but they sent me a wireless hub so I am able to work on my blog a little more than before. However I do only have 10 gb of internet to use on the hub.
