Tarteist Lip Wardrobe by Tarte Review and Swatches

A few weeks back I had ordered the Tarteist Lip Wardrobe from Sephora. While I have always been a huge Tarte fan I have yet to try their Tarteist Lip Paints, so when I found this set for $16, it was instantly added to my cart. I couldn’t resist, Tarte and liquid lipsticks? SOLD (and I needed another like $10 for free shipping… lol)

But this set is so perfect it comes in a cute little black box with their signature metallic gold lettering. The set itself comes with 2 deluxe samples of their Tarteist Lip Paints, one in the classic matte and one glossy. The matte is the well known “Namaste” which is a nude, and then the glossy is in “WCW” which is a berry shade.tarteist lip wardrobe

Originally I had thought that the set contained both matte liquid lipsticks, but it was not until I had swatched the WCW that I had found out that it was a glossy finish. ** Note to Self: Read everything before ordering. Not that I mind, but I would have preferred a matte berry shade.swatches

Namaste is a very natural nude colour, with the perfect hint of pink to it. As mentioned earlier it is a matte finish. It dries fairly quickly and has a very consistent and opaque formula. With that being said you only need one coat to evenly cover your lips and it does not feel heavy or drying on the lips. It is certainly a beautiful colour, and the hint of pink prevents you from looking sickly, or washed out. WCW is a dark berry toned colour, and as far as I’m concerned the exact opposite of Namaste. As mentioned earlier is has a glossy finish, which I also find rather thin, however you are able to build it up. As it is glossy it does not dry and also transfers fairly easily, but the colour itself is very vampy and perfect for fall.Tarte WCW

Overall I would definitely say that I prefer Namaste, but the longer I wear WCW it is certainly growing on me. But for $16 you can’t go wrong. To pick up this limited edition set, click here to get it from Sephora.
