Ipsy October 2016 “Black Magic” Review

It seems like just yesterday I was writing about Septembers Ipsy go bag (okay maybe it was.. I was a tad late) but here I am with my unboxing of my October’s bag. This month the theme was “Black Magic” and Ipsy paired up with Valre, for the cutest bag I’ve gotten in the 2 years I’ve been with them. But seriously how cute is the bag?

For those who don’t know Ipsy is a month beauty subscription service. Each month you receive a themed makeup bag and 4-5 full sized or deluxe sample sized products. The cost is $10 USD, with free shipping to the US or $5 USD shipping to Canada. It works out to roughly $20 CAD but the value is always much higher. If you’re interested in joining click here

The first of my items was a deluxe sample of a Noyah lipstick in shade “Smoke”. This is milk chocolate in colour swatches very smoothly, and is super opaque, however this colour is just not for me.

Next up is The Balm eyeshadow/blush deluxe sample in the shade “Hot Momma” now I find this name hilarious because clearly Ipsy is trying to tell me something 😉 kidding but in all seriousness this colour is beautiful. It is a coral-ish pink with hints of gold in it. It actually reminds me of Nars “Orgasm”

Third thing I received this month was a buttercream lip scrub by Indi Beauty. Now having never heard of this brand I was fairly excited to try out this product and let me tell you. This product is AMAZING. It leaves your lips feeling like a baby’s bottom and tastes like icing. I give it a 10/10 and will definitely repurchase when I run out.

The fourth item I received was a Ciate London “Fierce Flicks” in Black. I’ve never tried any of Ciate’s products aside from their nail polishes so I was excited to try this. Plus Im still trying to find me favourite liquid liner. Now I haven’t tried it on my eyes yet but from the swatch it is super pigmented and glides very smoothly, so I can’t wait to try it on a wing.

Last up for the month I had received an eyeshadow brush from Lottie London. I absolutely love receiving brushes in my bag and this one was no exception. The colour is a gorgeous hot pink and it feels so soft against my hand. I will certainly be using this brush in the future and can’t wait to try it.

I had also redeemed 500 Ipsy points for a full sized Bare Minerals Liquid Lipstick, but I will be doing a full post on that shortly.

Did you get any of the same things in your Ipsy bag this month? Let me know below, or let me know your favourite thing you got, mine is either the lip scrub or the Hot Momma.
