Sorry guys. I may fail epically at nails but I figured I’d give it a go for one of my #Blogmas posts. (In case you’ve missed my other days they can be found here and here!!)
After doing this nail art I decided that I should probably invest in a dotting tool and also maybe get some of the nail stamps (because I would love to try ugly sweater nails BUUUT I have a feeling they wouldn’t turn out very pretty. *siiiigh*
This nail art is inspired by my favourite tea travel mug from DavidsTEA and it was also included in my November Favourites.
In case you’ve missed it, I am rather fond of light pink and gold so like the mug my nails are those colours.
For this look I used Julep nail polish in Carla (also a November favourite). A mini gold nail polish from Avon and a random white nail polish with no label… I think it was from Claire’s and came in a caviar nail kit.
I also used a clear keratin treatment as a base coat as my nails are fairly brittle and Im trying to strengthen them. The one I used was Salon Perfect Multi Benefit Keratin Treatment from Walmart. Which I find does a good job of strengthening my nails.
Next I decided I wanted a full nail to be white so I painted over the pointer finger on both hands with a white.
Once I had the solid colours it was time to go in to incorporate the white accents on the mug. For this I decided to do a white tip on the pinky and then attempt to create the white diamonds on my middle finger.
Overall I wasn’t too disappointed with how they turned out. I mean I would have loved to have a dotting tool to make the designs a little nicer but I do think they are super cute and festive, while still being super girly with the pink.
Have you ever done a nail art inspired by something you love? I’d love to see it!
